Set in beautiful countryside, La Palonia adjoins a 19th Century house originally built for a local Notaire, situated in the small hamlet of Chenay.

La Palonia has been recently renovated to a very high standard providing gite accommodation for 8/10 people. The main house, occupied by Steve and Caroline Collin, along with the gite, is set in 6 acres of private land mainly laid to lawn. To the rear of the gite is a picturesque private sunken terrace area with barbecue, leading to the 11 x 5 swimming pool and sunbathing terrace, occasionally shared with the owners. The pool area is surrounded by screened land to ensure privacy and there is ample space for a game of football, cricket etc, and comes with badminton, table tennis and boules facilities.

The gite comprises three double bedrooms, plus a family room with twin beds on the mezzanine and a sofa bed on the ground floor.Two of the bedrooms have large shower rooms, another has bath with integral shower and the family room has the luxury of a jacuzzi bath. The family room is fitted to provide additional lounge facilities when the sofa bed is not needed. The kitchen/salon is equipped to the highest standard including dishwasher, washing machine, and the lounge area is equipped with English freeview satellite TV, DVD player etc. Internet access is supplied as standard via either a network or wireless connection for those who need to stay in touch.

Separate access is provided into the gite via a private side road leading to a parking area from which the salon can be entered via the sunken terrace.

Steve and Caroline can offer a welcome pack and evening meals if you need a rest from the kitchen, as well as being on hand to provide advice on the area.

The market town of Sauze-Vaussais is just 2 kilometres away and the central location and ease of access to the N10 means that sites such as Futuroscope at Poitiers, La Rochelle, Niort, Cognac and Bordeaux are easy excursion days. The area is ideal for walking or cycling with many scenic routes around the local villages. Bikes are available for hire for the energetic and are a good way to explore . There are excellent golf courses within 45 minutes drive and you can even practise your short game in the garden!!
