19th Century ‘Maison Bourgeoise’ with enclosed pool Nr Chef Boutonne

This recently renovated house is situated only a short drive to the market towns of Chef-Boutonne and Sauzé-Vaussais.

The house has been restored to its original beauty by local craftsmen and all the rooms are spacious and light. On the ground floor there is a farmhouse kitchen/dining room which is equipped to the highest standards with electric cooker/oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, fridge/freezer and wood burning stove. Adjoining is a large lounge with traditional fireplace, stone flagged floor and satellite TV with DVD player. There is a spacious area for coats, shoes etc in the hall which leads to a bathroom with toilet, shower and washing machine. On the first floor there are four bedrooms; three with double beds and one with three singles. In addition there is a large bathroom with toilet, separate shower and bath. All bed linen and hand towels are provided and, in addition, there is a folding bed for those who wish to accommodate 11 persons.

The house is set within a private walled garden laid mainly to grass but with gravel drive and paths. The large barn adjoining the house is ideal for parking cars to keep them cool during the day, as well as for indoor badminton or as a general play area. At the end of the garden is an enclosed swimming pool with lockable gates and, within this area, is a terrace which provides a totally private sunbathing area and an open fronted barn which offers a shady area for sitting or playing games. The 9 x 4 metre pool has underwater lighting and garden furniture, sun beds and barbecue are all provided.

Vans selling local produce, including bread, call in the village daily.In the nearby town of Sauzé-Vaussais there are public tennis courts and the Charente River is only a short drive away.           Well behaved pets welcome.
