19th Century house situated in the small village of La Pommeraie
Situated
on the edge of the small village of La Pommeraie, Le Figier is a charming
19th century house built of local stone. It is set in its own secluded
garden and has an 8 X 4 metre swimming pool. The village has its own
shop and bakery and is only a few kilometres from the market towns
of Lezay and Sauzé-Vaussais. The surrounding countryside is
unspoilt and its gently rolling terrain reveals fields of sun flowers
and corn. Despite its rural setting, the N 10 is only about ten minutes
away and this provides easy access to the motorway network; the A10
(Paris-Bordeaux) allows a journey time of between 6 and 7 hours from
Calais.
The house has been tastefully renovated but, at the same time,
the original charm has been maintained. Upstairs there are two double
bedrooms and a bathroom and downstairs there is a second bathroom,
kitchen/dining room and lounge. The lounge has a double sofa bed
and an additional folding bed allows a maximum sleeping capacity
of 8. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and equipped to the highest
standards.
The area offers a wide
range of places to visit: Futuroscope is less than an hour away
and the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice), La Rochelle, Cognac and
the Gironde estuary are all easy day excursions. For the children,
the ever popular Valley of the Monkeys is within half an hour of
the house, as is the Charente river with its boating a fishing possibilities.
There are two or three excellent golf courses within a easy drive
and the area has a wide choice of restaurants. Tennis and horse
riding can also be found within a few minutes of the house. Well
behaved pets accepted.

Low Season Rate: GBP £300.00 per week includes heating and electricity. Rate negotiable for for 2 or more weeks. Rate for Christmas & Easter available on application.
