Charming riverside property in medieval town of Confolens

The Riverside Cottage was an old farmhouse built in 1775 and remained in the same family until the present owners purchased it in 2000, since when it has been totally renovated. It is located approximately 500 metres from the medieval town of Confolens , which is renowned for its world famous international folk festival in August and which goes for ten nights.

Although close to the town centre, the property is in a tranquil, island setting separated by a small stream and the Vienne. It is within walking distance of shops, supermarkets and restaurants

On the ground floor are two double bedrooms each with ensuite facilities and an additional single bed. From the downstairs entrance hall is a door leading out onto the patio and the garden and there are stairs to the chestnut, timber floored lounge on the first floor. This is equipped with a dual standard television that pick up English and French stations, DVD and CD stereo system (Tapes and CD's not provided).

From the lounge one door leads to the third ensuite double bedroom, again with additional single bed and the other door leads to the fully fitted kitchen/ dining room. The kitchen has a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, gas hob and electric oven. There is an outside staircase leading directly from the kitchen into the garden.

The beautiful, large, mature garden with apple and walnut trees takes you down to the banks of the River Vienne. A perfect spot for fishing and picnicking; permits for fishing can be easily obtained locally. Nearer to the house is the 6.4 metre circular swimming pool and adjacent is the entertaining area which is partly covered and which has barbecue, table, chairs etc.

All bed linen and towels are provided and a cot, high chair, baby gate and push chair can be provided on request. The first floor of the house is available for winter lets.

Out of Season - Riverside Cottage is available for Winter and out of season lettings, please use the enquiry form to check availability

Low Season Rate:  GBP £400.00 per week includes heating and electricity. Rate negotiable for for 2 or more weeks.  Rate for Christmas & Easter available on application.
